A proposal for the 30km Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link was submitted to the Hong Kong SAR Government in June 2007. The Link will start at a new terminus at West Kowloon. When completed, the link will connect to the national express rail network linking with frequent service to Longhua in Shenzhen and Shibi in Guangzhou and longer distance service to other major cities in the Mainland.
